Salary: £15,148 - £15,893 per annum plus benefits


Pre and post home visits are undertaken for adoptions of RSPCA animals. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to task and co-ordinate these home visits for animal centres and branches in London, to maintain accurate records accordingly, and to recruit, train and co-ordinate the work of the home visit volunteers. Excellent communication and organisational skills essential, and experience with Windows-based software desirable.

Education Officer - Knowsley Park, Midlands

The Education Department within Knowsley Safari Park are currently looking for an Education Officer to work a five day week.
This will include working weekends, with one in every four off work.

Salary: £17,000
The successful candidate will be outgoing and enthusiastic as well as being educated to degree level. A teaching qualification is advantageous.  IT competency and a full driving license are essential.
You will primarily take on the role of developing our secondary education programme, however the role also involves Outreach, animal presentations and the teaching of other age groups.
The role will be subject to a CRB check.

LEAD QUALIFIED KEEPERS - BANHAM ZOO, NORFOLK

Working under the direction of the Head Keeper the successful candidates will work alongside our existing lead qualified keeper with a variety of taxa including primates, cats, hoofstock, birds and small mammals.  Flexibility is key to the successful operation of the animal department as a whole and each position will be expected to provide cover and assistance for the others as and when required.
The successful candidates will be self motivated and have a hands-on approach to their respective roles and will be expected to lead by example.

Key Objectives:

-Care for the animals to the highest possible standards under the direction of the Head Keeper.
-Assist and support the Head Keeper in all aspects of animal and staff management.
Work alongside the keepers reporting to these positions, supervising, motivating and generally ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times.

About you:

You will have the ANCMZA or an equivalent qualification and have extensive experience in some of the taxa identified above.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proven ability to motivate and manage staff reporting to this position.
You will have a through understanding and interest in modern zoo animal management, including animal enrichment and training using positive behaviour methods.
Be computer literate with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Word and ARKS.  A working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Access are desirable.

About us:

Based at Banham Zoo you will work an average 40 hour week with alternate weekends off, however, working hours will be flexible and include bank holidays and occasional evenings.
Some additional weekend cover will be required to provide holiday cover.

Salary and benefits:

These posts attract an annual salary of £19,000 per annum.
In addition to this we are able to offer a company pension scheme, relocation expenses and assistance with accommodation costs will also be available to the successful candidates.

RSPCA Regional Press Officer 1 Year Fixed Term - South East Regional Headquarters (Ref: RPO/483)

Salary: £24,284.64 - £25,746.12 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus benefits including private healthcare and pension scheme.

Hours: 35 hours Monday - Friday (will include some weekends and overnight stays)

We are seeking a highly motivated press officer with excellent communication skills. Capable of building and maintaining a strong network of media contacts, you will be responsible for representing the work of the region and its inspectorate through press and television via briefings, press releases, interviews and letters for publication. You will also promote the Society's work through regional and national campaigns.

Education Officer and Work Experience Coordinator - Blackpool Zoo, Lancashire

£13,390 per annum
This full time permanent position involves delivering daily talks around the zoo, teaching and evaluating sessions for school groups ( Keystage 1-4), working with several SEN/BESD groups who complete practical programmes on a weekly basis.
In addition, the post will involve organising and running conservation fundraising events and co-ordinating the zoo's work experience programme.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working individual with a passion for conservation.
Applicants should have relevant animal or teaching qualification, with experience working in a zoo environment preferred.
