The College of Animal Welfare, was established in 1989 at its centre in Huntingdon to further animal welfare through education and training.  The college has a well-earned reputation for excellence, delivering quality training and education, and has a history of being pioneers with a number of unique achievements that have created new opportunities for learning.

Today the college is a 'not for profit' organisation specialising in veterinary nurse and animal care training and operates from four training centres in the UK including two of the country's leading veterinary schools.  Our centres are located in Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire), Potters Bar (Hertfordshire), Leeds (West Yorkshire) and Edinburgh (Scotland), addresses of these can be found in our Directory.

Veterinary Nursing Training

We offer a range of veterinary nursing courses.  If you are looking to qualify as a veterinary nurse we offer pre-training courses, a variety of veterinary nursing courses and after you have qualified, a wide range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.  To find out more about training as a Veterinary Nurse click on our website

Animal Care Training

We are one of the leading bespoke training providers in the UK and deliver training to many of the UK's leading animal welfare charities.  We provide a range of services for those working with animals, including full and part time courses and various short courses ranging from one day long to week long seminars.

For those interested in working with animals but wishing to explore which area to get involved in, we hold a 'Careers with Animals Day' event from our Huntingdon centre.  This is usually a popular event where we have representatives from different areas of the animal care sector available to speak to.  Past exhibitors have included companies such as The Blue Cross, Groomers, Pet Care Trust, Defence Animal Centre, British Veterinary Nursing Association and the Royal Veterinary College.   Please contact us for further details of future events or see our website

We are here to help, we want you to succeed, and we will do our utmost to achieve this.
